#AnatomySeries

Drawn from a reference image handed out in class. I chose it because I found the contrast between the serenity in her expression and the intricate details of her insides very interesting to look at. I used charcoal because I wanted to capture the softness of her face, and there's no way in hell I'm gonna work through all those nerves and bones in pencil.
No matter how much I try to diversify, charcoal is still the only medium I can bend to my will. Good thing I like the way it looks.
As with all traditional drawings, it looks far better in person. But I really need to work on my art photography skills. Any tips on how to make it look good with just a cell phone camera? I kinda just took this photo and dialed the levels up to 11...I don't think it looks too good like that though. And somehow the corners are darkened, must be the fantastic lighting job I did I think it looks kind of nice that way though.
---
Tools: Charcoal! Compressed, vine, and pencil. And a kneaded eraser and my fingers of course, can't do a charcoal drawing without those
Size: 18"×24"
Time: ~15 hours...Started this sleep deprived and ended up spending several hours trying to undo all my structural mistakes, and it still ended up looking squished D: I can code without sleep but not draw without sleep

I was cross comparing this with The Atlas of Anatomy, and the muscles, tendons, fat, and nerves are almost en pointe.
Just beautifully, and awesome.
